Residential Moving Services in the DMV Area

Moving your home is one of the most stressful things you'll do. Our residential crews treat every piece of furniture like their own — blanket-wrapped, handled carefully, and placed exactly where you want it.

Full-Service Residential Moves

Every Room, Every Item

Residential moving in the DC metro spans a wide range of home types — Capitol Hill row houses with narrow staircases, Northern Virginia townhome communities with HOA rules, and large single-family homes in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Our crews understand the access conditions specific to each type and plan for them in advance.

Your hourly rate covers the crew, 26-ft box truck, all moving equipment, furniture blanket-wrapping, and disassembly and reassembly. No separate truck rental fee.

Residential Moves Across DC, Maryland & Northern Virginia

Washington DC —DC's residential stock includes a high proportion of row houses and attached homes in neighborhoods like Capitol Hill, Columbia Heights, Shaw, and Petworth. These homes often have steep interior staircases, narrow front doors, and limited street parking. We account for these conditions in every DC residential quote.

Northern Virginia —Arlington, Alexandria, and Fairfax County are densely packed with townhome and condominium communities, many governed by HOA rules that restrict moving hours or require elevator reservations. We recommend checking your community's move-in/out policy before booking.

Maryland —Montgomery and Prince George's counties include a wide mix of single-family homes, split-levels, and larger suburban properties. Longer carries or multiple floors are common; a 3- or 4-mover crew is often the right choice for these larger homes.

Residential Moving FAQs

Can you move a full house worth of furniture?
Yes. We size the crew to the job — a 3-mover crew handles most 2–3 bedroom homes, while larger homes typically call for 4 movers. We'll recommend the right crew when you request a quote and flag how many truck loads to expect based on your home size.
Do you handle large or heavy furniture?
Yes. Sofas, sectionals, king-size beds, wardrobes, dressers, and dining tables are standard items on residential moves. All furniture is blanket-wrapped before loading to protect against scratches and scuffs during transport.
Is furniture disassembly and reassembly included?
Disassembly and reassembly of standard furniture — bed frames, sectionals, shelving units, and most flat-pack pieces — is included in your hourly rate at no extra charge.
How should I prepare my home for moving day?
The more that's boxed and labeled before we arrive, the faster the move goes. Clear pathways through hallways and doorways, and let us know in advance about access challenges — limited parking, narrow roads, or restricted entry points — so we can plan accordingly.
What if my new home isn't ready on the same day I move out?
This is worth planning for in advance. We don't operate a storage facility, so if there's a gap between your move-out and move-in dates, you'll need to arrange temporary storage separately. Mention this when requesting a quote and we can advise on logistics.
Do you charge extra for stairs?
The first flight of stairs is included in your hourly rate. A $25 fee applies for each additional flight. Long carries — where items must travel a significant distance from the truck to the entrance — may add time to the move.
